Google keeps coming up with new ways to use AI in its services. The latest addition is on YouTube: the “Ask” button. It’s like having a helpful chatbot right there while you watch videos.
With the Ask button, you can do a lot of things without pausing the video. You can ask questions about the video and get answers instantly. Want a quick summary? Just ask. Want to talk about a specific part of the video? The chatbot is there to discuss it with you. Watching a product review? You can ask for the pros and cons. And if the video is teaching something, you can ask for a simpler explanation.
According to Android Authority, the chatbot works really well. It gives quick and accurate answers. Some people think the chatbot might be checking out the video even before you ask anything. And here’s something interesting: the Ask button only shows up on videos that are completely in English.
Right now, this feature is only for YouTube Premium users in the US who are 18 or older. You can try it out on the YouTube app for Android until May 1st. But remember, you need to turn on the feature in your settings. Oh, and one more thing: it only works for English videos. If you’re watching music videos, the Ask button won’t be there.
